Hi everyone, I'm Ron and welcome to my Volume 2 on mastering residential, commercial, and high end luxury videography. In this course we will be going through 2 homes from start to finish, running through everything from how to approach the job, the right mindset, settings, exposure, composition, gear, and into the post production. Let's get started.
In this intro to the course, we'll talk about the gear needed to get shots the way I do, the importance of a cell phone tour, staging the home, and most importantly, the right mindset to start shooting.
In these lessons I show you how to shoot the living room, kitchen, & dining room. We go over the core 4 rooms, why they are essential, and how to get the best shots of these all important rooms. We'll be tackling the first 3 of the core 4: the living room, kitchen, & dining room.
In this section we will be finishing the downstairs, from the pantry to the mudrooms, desk and patio next to the kitchen. Then, we'll do the entryway and landing for the stairs, and the guest bedroom before moving to the second floor.
In preparation for going upstairs, we'll shoot the entryway and staircase and then shoot the catwalk landing on the 2nd floor. We'll shoot everything else on the 2nd floor, including bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry, and any other spaces.
In these videos, I'll show you how to shoot a master bed and bath. I'll also shoot the closet, shower, guest bathrooms and adjacent guest bedrooms, the laundry room before moving to the next lesson.
As we head to the basement, we will learn to grab any other shots that we missed before. Once we transition to the basement we'll shoot the main landing in the basement, the main entertainment area, small powder, laundry, and some guest bedrooms. We'll also shoot any extra rooms that are included in the basement.
In this module, we will learn to shoot our drone footage. We'll cover maneuvers, speed, settings, and certifications required to fly commercially (Spoiler: You'll need Part 107c certification).
Now that we have taken all our footage, let's head over to my editing software of choice: DaVinci Resolve. Most all the functions on DaVinci that I use are able to be used with their free download, at www.blackmagicdesign.com. In this module, we'll edit our footage, then we'll color correct it, stabilize and sharpen it, and finally learn how to export.
In this module, we will walkthrough another home, from start to finish. Be thinking ahead of my process, predict which shots I would get, and understand why I am getting a given shot. If you have any questions, just ask it in the comments. I'll get to it when I can! Let's get started.
